General terms and conditions of delivery and sale

AGMI Signing warranty conditions

This warranty is based on a technical lifespan of 20 years and conditions as stipulated by the film suppliers, supplemented by the manufacturer's warranty below, and applies to the complete system from aluminium carrier to retro-reflective material, the inks used and overlay films:

  • It must be demonstrable at all times that the traffic signs in question were actually supplied by the manufacturer and when this delivery took place.
  • Traffic signs that are placed in coastal areas or are contaminated by road salt spray and/or moss formation must be cleaned with non-chemical substances at least once within 10 years of installation.
  • Traffic signs from which graffiti, stickers or other markings have been removed using chemical agents are not covered by this warranty.
  • Removal costs, repair costs and consequential damage are not covered by this warranty.
  • Signs covered by this warranty will be taken back by the manufacturer as scrap under a “bring-in” warranty.
  • If the system no longer meets the guaranteed technical service life, the value of the sign will be reimbursed on a declining basis. This means that the system will lose 1/20 of its value each year.

Warranty conditions

VNVF warranty conditions

In everyday practice, there is sometimes uncertainty about the service life and durability of the reflective values of retro-reflective films used on traffic signs.
Below are the warranty conditions applied by Agmi and other manufacturers who are members of the VNVF.

VNVF warranty conditions for retro-reflective traffic signs

The members of the trade association provide the following warranty for the reflective value of retro-reflective film on traffic signs:

  • Class II: 10 years, decreasing.
  • Class III: 12 years, decreasing.

This warranty is based on the expected technical lifespan and conditions as set by the various film suppliers and applies to the complete system of retro-reflective material and the inks and overlay films added to it.
In the case of retro-reflection, it is assumed that traffic signs meet the minimum Dutch standard requirements if there is no deterioration in the film as a result of natural causes, as a result of which the traffic sign no longer meets these standard requirements. This applies to traffic signs viewed from a moving vehicle, under normal conditions, and to other signs from a normal reading or observation distance.

We reserve the right, if a sign no longer meets the retro-reflection requirements after measurement by the client, to have the sign measured again by a third party.

  • It must be demonstrable at all times that the traffic signs in question were actually delivered by the manufacturer and when this delivery took place.
  • Signs that fall under these conditions and no longer meet the standard requirements will be taken back by the manufacturer as scrap.
  • Traffic signs will be reimbursed. Other costs, such as installation and handling costs, will be assessed separately for each claim.
  • After a claim has been assessed, an overview document will be drawn up for approval. Once this document has been signed, reimbursement will be made.
  • A declining guarantee means that, for example, a Class II traffic sign loses 1/10 of its value each year for 10 years.
