Smarter management, circular constructions: from plan to practice

Smarter management, circular constructions: from plan to practice

Circularity in public spaces is no longer a vision for the future. On 23 and 24 september, we will be exhibiting at the Vakbeurs Openbare Ruimte at Jaarbeurs Utrecht., where we will showcase what is already possible today in signage, asset management and reuse. From digital insights into your signage inventory to sustainable products that have already been succesfully implemented by municipalities for years.

IPSm: digital traffic sign management

With IPSm, we digitally map all trafic signs in public spaces. This gives municipalities up-to-date insight into their entire traffic sign inventory: location, status and management information in one overview.

At our stand, we will demonstrate IPSm live. Look up your own municipality and immediately see what traffic sign management looks like in practice.

Form plan to practise

What does full project support look like, from initial planning to implementation in the public space? At our stand, we will explain this proces using projects that showcase the different stages, from planning to execution.

Sustainable products

At our stand, we will showcase our wide range of sustainable and circular products, including:

Re-Sign®

In this refurbishment process, the old reflective sheeting is removed, the aluminium sign is given a new coloured border and a new high-quality reflective layer is applied. This gives a sign a second, third or even fourth life cycle, with significantly lower raw material consumption than a new sign.

Natural Traffic Sign

A traffic sign made from hemp fibres and a 100% fossil-free, non toxic binder, devolped in collaboration with Plantics. The hemp is grown and harvested in the northeast of the Netherlands: production takes place in arnhem using renewable electricity. The sign is approximately 50% lighter than aluminium sign and is compastable after a technical service of life of at least 20 years.

Greenmolen

A collaboration with Greenmolen and Versluys Verkeerstechniek, in which decommissioned wind turbine blades, wich typically end up in an incinerator after their service life of around 20 years, are processed through recycling technology into raw material for new traffic signs.

Re-Construct®

With Re-Construct®, we give existing VOP units, illuminated directional signs, PRIS systems and old lighting fixtures a second life, instead of producting entirely new units, we thoroughly clean the excisting fixtures and replace the outdated lighting systems with a modern LED solution.

Each of these products demonstrates how circularity takes concrete shape in public spaces, from material selection to reuse.
