Hub signs for Flex Transport in Zeeland

Hub signs for Flex Transport in Zeeland

The growing need for flexible and accessible transportation calls for innovative and recognizable solutions in public spaces. How do you ensure that travelers can easily use new mobility services, even outside regular public transit hours?

In this business case, you'll learn how we designed, produced, and delivered Hub signage for approximately 1000 locations on behalf of the Province of Zeeland. In doing so, we're contributing to a future-proof and flexible mobility network in the region.

The challenge at the Province of Zeeland

The province was about to launch a large-scale rollout of Flexvervoer: a supplementary transportation service consisting of passenger cars and vans with drivers, available seven days a week from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

To ensure the success of this service, there was a need for clear, recognizable pickup points in public spaces. The Province had specific requirements in this regard:

  • A uniform and recognizable look and feel, consistent with the national identity, for Hub locations throughout the province
  • Support for flexible transportation as a supplement to existing transportation services
  • Scalability to 1000 locations spread across multiple municipalities
  • A reliable partner for design, production, and delivery at each location

Our Approach and Work

To succesfully meet this challenge, we at AGMI have taken full responsibility for the design, production and delivery of the Hub signs.

Design of Distinctive Hub Signs

We developed the design for the Hub signs, focusing on distinctiveness and visibility. The distinctive teardrop-shaped overhead signs and green color scheme ensure that the hubs immediately stand out in the streetscape and contribute to a consistent identity.

Production of high-quality and durable components

For this project, we supplied:

  • Coated post-and-rail signs
  • Teardrop-shaped overhead signs
  • Bottom panels with additional information
  • Complete sets per location

The materials were selected based on durability, longevity, and modularity.

Large-scale and efficient delivery

With over 1000 Hub locations spread across Zeeland, logistics was a crucial part of the project. We unsured:

  • Sets deliverd per location
  • Efficient planning and delivery to various municipalities
  • The project has now been completed, with the expectation of a few backorders and restocking orders

Added value for the customer

  • Supporting an innovative mobility concept The Hub signs make Flex Transport visible and accesible to residents and visitors. Travelers can now easily use this supplementary transport in the evenings and on weekends as well.
  • Uniform and recognizable network The consistent design and placement of Hub signs create a clear network of boarding points throughout Zeeland.
  • Full transparency From design to production and delivery: we took care of every aspect of this large-scale project for the Province of Zeeland.
  • Scalable and future-proof solution The base panels are fully modular, making them easy to expand and suitable for future mobility developments. Thanks to their modular design, the base panels are fully reuseable.

Result

With the installation of over 1000 Hub signs, a solid foundation has been laid for Flex Transport in the Province of Zeeland. The hubs serve as fixed, recognizable points where travelers can board or transfer and they make flexible transport visible in public spaces.

Since the launch of Flex, residents have been able to use a samrt and accessible transportation network that seamlessly connects with existing public transit, even outside regular service hours.
