The challenge at the Wilhelminabrug
The client had a clear set of requirements that the structure and signage needed to meet:
- The signs and supporting structure had to comply with the applicable guidelines, laws, and regulations.
- A height scale had to be installed on a tubular pole, with the required traffic signs mounted above it.
- The height scale needed to include a subdivision on the right-hand side.
- The reflective class of both the signs and the height scale had to comply with Class II.
- The typeface, including letters and numbers, had to be applied in accordance with the regulations of Rijkswaterstaat
- At the weir level (NAP +44.05), a clearance height of 6.10 meters had to be indicated.
- The bottom edge of the signs preferably had to be positioned at 400 cm above the weir level, without interfering with the operation of radar installations.
