Project progress: ''P+R Signage en S numbers Rotterdam''

Stephen Jansen, Traffic Planner for the municipality of Rotterdam: “The project went smoothly thanks to good coordination. The municipality of Rotterdam imposed additional requirements on the serial uniformity of the panel designs, with the structural aspects serving the functional technical requirements that the signage must meet.”

Project details

In addition to the complete delivery, replacement, installation, and/or removal of static signage, a total of 21 dynamic locations with 25 digital VVX displays were installed.

The municipality of Rotterdam purchased 50 digital VVX displays manufactured by Solari in Italy. In this project, 25 digital VVX displays were integrated into the portal and mast signage for the 21 P+R (Park-and-Ride) locations. This allows road users to be kept up to date on the number of available parking spaces at the designated P+R locations.

SPIE Infra ensured the correct communication and integration of the displays, with AGMI installing the VVX displays behind the signage and Heijmans attaching the signage to a portal or mast on site. SPIE Infra's other activities included supplying and installing the control cabinets for the VVX displays, obtaining the permits and energy supplies for the power cabinets in consultation with Stedin, and testing and delivering the displays in collaboration with the municipality of Rotterdam and MobiMaestro.

All in all, this was a very extensive project, involving close cooperation between various parties within a multifaceted project framework, ultimately resulting in a satisfactory outcome for a satisfied client!
