Replacing rotary blades A28

Request from client

The development, production, and delivery of new rotating slats with modified imagery for 22 rotating locations on the A28. Why? Due to a change in the speed limit on the A28, the imagery on the rotating slats also had to be changed at all 22 locations.

Project progress: ''Rotatielamellen A28''

Sanne Bolder, Work Planner at BAM Infra Verkeerstechniek BV: 'The project went very well. Thanks to the excellent cooperation and proactive approach of AGMI Traffic & Lighting, the project was completed quickly and flawlessly.

We started with an inventory to get a clear picture of the existing situation, such as the direction of rotation, the dimensions, and the type of rotating panel. In order to carry this out according to plan, AGMI Traffic & Lighting drew up an inventory form with a clear checklist to obtain the necessary information for the new lamellas to be produced.

After a successful FAT in AGMI Traffic & Lighting's production facility, the slats were delivered and replaced according to plan.

Project details

In order to determine the dimensions and types of rotating panels, we started with an inventory that was carried out over two nights by BAM Infra Verkeerstechniek. During this inventory, photos were taken of each slat side of the panel and the direction of rotation of the panel was checked. VCNWN remotely rotated the panels to the desired position.

Based on the inventory report, BAM Infra Verkeerstechniek drew up fact sheets that were checked and approved by Rijkswaterstaat. AGMI Traffic & Lighting then produced the DWG drawings of all rotation locations, after which the orders were released for production.

Before delivery of the slats, a FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) was carried out at the AGMI Traffic & Lighting factory. During the FAT, the dimensions and configurations of the slats were checked and approved. In week 40, the slats were exchanged on behalf of BAM Infra Verkeerstechniek. Everything went smoothly and well!
