Enough is enough!

Let's stop making new traffic signs. Of the 3 million traffic signs in the Netherlands, 600,000 are already surplus to requirements. That's more than enough for the next 50 years.

It started with our mission to make traffic signs and signage in the most sustainable way possible. This quest led us to the circular production process (re-sign®) that we use every day today. An essential part of this is the machine we developed ourselves to remove foil from existing traffic and signage signs, using only high pressure and rainwater.

80-year guarantee

Because we only use rainwater to remove the foil, the aluminium carrier remains completely intact. The aluminium can be processed at least four times by the high-precision rainwater jet, after which it is given a new lease of life with a new edge and film. This means a stable investment, with the substrate only increasing in value. This approach is so sustainable that we can offer an 80-year warranty on aluminium traffic signs and signage.

How does Re-Sign® work?

  1. Need for new signs. Traffic signs or signage need to be replaced or new signs are required.

  2. Hand in your old signs to us and receive compensation in return.

  3. With the help of our own high-precision rainwater jet, the film is removed from the signs under high pressure using rainwater.

  4. The cleaned sign is degreased with a biodegradable degreaser.

  5. A new coloured border is applied.

  6. The sign is fitted with new foil and a Re-Sign® sticker.

  7. The sign is now ready for another 20 years of use, and 40, 60, even 80 years.

We have made refurbishment sustainable ourselves

AGMI Re-Sign® meets Buyer Group's market vision about making traffic signs and signage more sustainable. This sign is at the top of the R-ladder. The secret to refurbishing without chemicals is our self-developed high-precision rainwater jet. This allows us to create exactly the right water pressure to quickly remove the film while keeping the aluminium completely intact.

Protecting the environment and purchasing competitively

If the most sustainable solution is also the most economical, then choosing AGMI Re-Sign® is an easy decision. We would be delighted to hear how we can contribute to your project with re-sign.

Complete transparency is the new norm

What makes AGMI Re-Sign® unique is that we make the entire process transparent and clear. We collect the rainwater ourselves, both before and after use. The high-precision rainwater jet is powered by an electric motor that runs on green electricity. The removed film is collected and recycled. This closes the entire chain.

Invisible sustainability

AGMI Re-Sign® traffic signs and signage ensure a consistent street scene, as the vast majority of current traffic signs are already made of aluminium. Nothing changes in appearance, but everything changes behind the scenes.

About AGMI Traffic & Lighting

AGMI has been an authority in the field of signage, signposting, support structures, electrical and tunnel safety products for 75 years. In 2014, we were the first in the Netherlands to be certified as cradle to cradle. Even then, we were already making aluminium traffic signs from 80% recycled aluminium. Then we went further: how can we achieve 100% reuse? Refurbishment is only a serious option if the film can be removed in a completely sustainable manner. The use of chemicals or heat is quickly ruled out: not environmentally friendly, not practical. Our search led us to water. What followed was a three-year development process in which we built various prototypes. Thanks to our high-precision rainwater jet, it is now possible for the first time to refurbish traffic signs on a large scale in an affordable and sustainable way.
